CAM lathe

Module

Learn to set up, program and validate toolpaths for a CNC lathe.

Overview

Learn to create a setup for a CNC lathe.  The CNC lathe setup will contain information about stock, coordinate system reference, and the location of the chuck holding the stock.  With a setup in place, you’ll  learn to create digital tools, rough and finish machine a part and validate the toolpaths through simulation.  When toolpaths have been verified, you’ll learn how to generate a setup sheet and export code that can be read by a CNC lathe.

After completing this module, you’ll be able to:

  • Create a CAM setup for lathe.
  • Create a lathe tool library.
  • Create lathe toolpaths.
  • Simulate and document lathe programs.
