This seminar will explain how design and construction information can be collected in a common data environment (CDE) and used effectively for digital information uses (DI Uses). It creates information through a model-driven approach, collaborative production using Autodesk Construction Cloud, and information management processes based on ISO 19650. The value and quality of the information is increased when everyone on the project team shares data through the entire process, facilitating decision making by the appointing party and gaining their trust. Shared data is the golden thread and the core of information management. Finally, we'll describe our case study and vision of a data-driven digital Daiwa House, which puts the CDE into practice and proceeds on the basis of the information gained from it.

In the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, collaboration and iterative design processes generate vast amounts of data for each drawing, model, and workflow. With legacy workflows and file-based applications like Revit software, this critical data remains uncollected and underused, not fully using AI-powered predictions and informed decision making. This course will address the challenge IMEG Corp. encountered when using untapped data for decision making through the AEC Data Model API. We will explore how AEC Data Model enables cloud-based workflows that allow reading, writing, and extending model subsets without the need for desktop application plug-ins. CADS first presented RebarCAD 3D for Revit software at AU in 2018. We're now nearly seven years into the development of the program, and, as a result, a lot has changed! Detailing rebar in Revit has been made easier and more efficient using additional tools to add special rebar bend types, circular bars, and even the ability to apply "one click" detailing to members using the Smart Detailer. The audit facility provides the user with full and efficient control over all rebar in the model, checking assignment to release and identifying any rebar that does not conform to the customizable preset rebar requirements. Detailers can efficiently output rebar production files directly from the Revit model to the major fabrication systems for production, with just a few clicks. Revision control tools for bar list and release management—combined with the ability to fully lock the rebar type, position, and dimensions in the model—result in complete quality control.

This session will help building information modeling (BIM) professionals use the Issues framework to flag clashes in a streamlined manner that helps alleviate the need to check every clash manually. It will then guide the professionals on how to organize engineering and construction teams in their use of the Revit Issues add-in so they can use the interface and communicate effectively. Finally, the session will focus on management teams' abilities to track and coordinate issue resolution pace and responsibility by creating digital control towers to manage the clash data using the Autodesk Construction Cloud Data Connector, with an introduction to data analytics using Power BI capabilities. An artificial system for designing timber connections would typically involve a combination of computational algorithms, databases of material properties, and engineering principles. Integrating AI systems with a code-checking system in Revit software allows engineers to explore different solutions and be certain of compliance with calculation regulations. Grouping and optimizing nodes, analyzing new node solutions, and automatically creating calculation reports in Revit can greatly reduce modeling and analysis efforts.
